COVID-19 UPDATE:

March 2021

2021 Jinshanling Great Wall Marathon Canceled

Hello Great Wall Runners, and Friends,

We have received official confirmation from the Jinshanling Great Wall Marathon organizers that they have canceled the 2021 race due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic. The 2022 race date is expected to be announced as we get closer to 2022.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. However, the good news is there is light at the end of this tunnel as pandemic numbers are dropping and vaccines are beginning to roll out around the world. Circumstances should be much better in the coming months and it will be safe to host endurance races again!

We are also excited to reveal a different Great Wall marathon and ultramarathon race coming later this year. Details coming soon, check back to our website for updates.

For questions please contact us.

Thank you for your understanding in this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Run The GREAT WALL Team

2020 JINSHANLING GREAT WALL MARATHON CANCELED

Hello Participants, Volunteers, Sponsors, and Friends,

This is the announcement we were hoping that would never have to publish. Yet here we are going through a global COVID-19 pandemic together, like a bad dream that you cannot wake up from. This is unknown territory that is playing with our health and the health of our loved ones. We are all in this global pandemic together.

We never want to cancel any event, however, there is always a possibility of a race being affected by circumstances out of our control. This would include things such as earthquakes, fires, floods, extreme weather, civil unrest, government orders, pandemics, unsafe air quality, and other “Acts of God”.

This was not an easy decision to make, but the 2020 Jinshanling Great Wall Marathon event that was scheduled for April 12, 2020, has been canceled. We cannot be foolish or stubborn when it comes to people's lives, with hundreds to thousands of people that are a part of this event, the welfare of participants, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, family, crew, and park officials is always a priority.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

This is incredibly challenging for all of us as this impacts the livelihood of many people who work tirelessly for months to prepare this event. We need everyone to be smart in this global health crisis, stay home, self isolate, and let's do our part to stop this virus for good. Then we can all get back together and enjoy awesome adventure running experiences.

For participant questions please contact us or email run@rungreatwall.com.

Thank you for your understanding in this challenging time.

Sincerely,
