Due to event planning and logistics, we are not able to accept registration entries after this date. Sorry, no exceptions.<\/p>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/rungreatwall.com\/jinshanling-great-wall-100\/register\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Register to secure your spot!<\/a>\t\n\t\t<h4>WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT?<\/h4><ul>\n<li>100K\/50K\/30K: 18-65 years old by the race date<\/li>\n<li>10K: 8-65 years old by the race date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Notes:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>For runners under 18 years of age, the runner and legal guardian need to submit a signed disclaimer waiver for official approval.<\/li>\n<li>For runners over 60 years of age, the runner and spouse or legal children need to submit a signed disclaimer waiver for official approval.<\/li>\n<li>A disclaimer waiver will be provided upon completed registration.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\t\t<h4>WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT?<\/h4><ul>\n<li>100K: 18-60 years old by the race date<\/li>\n<li>50K\/30K: 18-65 years old by the race date<\/li>\n<li>10K: 12-65 years old by the race date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t<h4>WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?<\/h4><ul>\n<li>100K participants must have a certificate of completion or proof of cross-country race of 50K and above.<\/li>\n<li>50K participants must have a certificate of completion or proof of cross-country race of 30K and above or completion of two half marathons or above on road running events.<\/li>\n<li>30K\/10K, no requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t<h4>ARE THERE HEALTH REQUIREMENTS?<\/h4><p>Yes, you must be in good health and fit condition to participate in this challenging race.<\/p>\n<p>The organizing committee recommends that the participants have the necessary physical examination within one month before the competition to determine whether it is suitable to participate in high-intensity sports competitions, physical examination items mainly include but are not limited to blood pressure, heart rate, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular, cardiopulmonary, liver and kidney function, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Those with the following physical conditions are prohibited from participating in the competition.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>People with congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease<\/li>\n<li>People with hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases<\/li>\n<li>People with myocarditis and other heart diseases<\/li>\n<li>Coronary artery disease and severe arrhythmia<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes with high or low blood sugar<\/li>\n<li>Those who have a cold two weeks before the race<\/li>\n<li>Those who drink a lot of alcohol or don&#8217;t get enough sleep the night before the race<\/li>\n<li>Those who have not recovered from infectious diseases<\/li>\n<li>Pregnant women during pregnancy<\/li>\n<li>Other diseases that are not suitable for exercise<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Drinking is forbidden for all participants before the race. Smoking is forbidden at the Great Wall. Please respect the national park and do not litter the environment.<\/p>\n<p>Please check your local Chinese Embassy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.china-embassy.org\/eng\/visas\/zyxx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> for up-to-date travel health requirements.<\/p>\n\t\t<h4>HOW TO GET TO THE RACE?<\/h4><p>Participants will need to travel to Beijing and then to Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area. Participants flying in will need to arrive at\u00a0<strong>Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK).\u00a0<\/strong>Then from there, you can arrange transportation to the hotel.<\/p>\n<p>From Beijing to the Jinshanling Great Wall it is approximately 145 km or a 2-hour drive. If driving on race day, please plan your trip with enough time to drive and arrive early for the race to allow time for check-in, pre-race prep, and the start of the race.<\/p>\n<p>All participants need to drive or arrange transportation on their own to the race location. Take the Beijing-Chengde Expressway (G45 Daguang Expressway) and exit at the Jinshanling Great Wall Exit. Turn right and follow the signs on the front to reach the Jinshanling Great Wall Scenic Area entrance.<\/p>\n<p>The main entrance of the scenic spot. There are multiple stations on the course ranging from 1 to 10 stations depending on which course you run. Study the <a href=\"https:\/\/rungreatwall.com\/jinshanling-great-wall-100\/course\/\">course<\/a> page for details.<\/p>\n\t\t<h4>WHAT TYPE OF WEATHER IS EXPECTED?<\/h4><p>September is the cooler Fall season and the typical weather is cold mornings with cool to warming during the day. Expect temperatures ranging from 1\u00baC-16\u00baC (34\u00baF-60\u00baF). We recommend checking the weather forecast a week before the race so you can dress appropriately.<\/p>\n\t\t<h4>CAN I WEAR HEADPHONES?<\/h4><p>For your safety and the safety of all participants, we do not recommend wearing headphones while running a race. However, if you do, we ask that you keep the volume down at a safe level so you can hear other runners and instructions from event personnel. It is important for you to be aware of other people coming up behind you. The important thing is paying attention to everyone&#8217;s safety and maintaining basic race etiquette with other runners.<\/p>\n\t\t<h4>DO I NEED A TRAVEL VISA?<\/h4><p>Yes. A China travel visa is required for foreigners to enter the country. If you haven&#8217;t applied for your visa, we recommend that you do so right away. It is best to apply early rather than risk missing out.<\/p>\n<p>When applying be sure to\u00a0provide in advance your flight itinerary\u00a0and hotel details.<\/p>\n<p>Almost all non-Chinese nationals will need a visa to enter China. There are different visa categories and you will most likely need a tourist visa (L). Please contact your local\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.china-embassy.org\/eng\/visas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chinese embassy<\/a>\u00a0or consulate for more information. The procedure normally requires submitting a visa application form, paying a fee and providing the Chinese authorities with an authorized flight itinerary from your travel agent. This process takes about one to two weeks. Note that your passport must be valid for at least six months after entry. The weather only adds to the adventure to make for a great\u00a0bucket list race experience!<\/p>\n\t\t<h4>IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER GREAT WALL RACES?<\/h4><p>Yes, there are multiple Great Wall endurance events that take place every year. Of the other races that take place on the Great Wall, this race is known to be the most challenging and rewarding for participants. Featuring the most varied terrain and course with sections of the wall in their original, crumbling condition which requires extra careful attention by participants as they traverse the ancient history of the Great Wall of China. Additional sections of the course take runners off the wall onto trails and pathways through the natural mountain and scenery surrounding the Great Wall. This gives runners new perspectives and a greater variety of scenery to enjoy!<\/p>\n\t\t<h4><a href=\"\/contact\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">CAN I CHANGE MY RACE DISTANCE?<\/a><\/h4><p>Yes. Distance change requests are available, the cut-off for all changes is September 2, 2024.
